Isabelle Bibet-Kalinyak is a partner at McDonald Hopkins, a large full-service corporate law firm with five offices nationwide. She is an experienced healthcare M&A and compliance attorney who is passionate about healthcare and business. As a French national and first-generation immigrant, she has a unique perspective on the U.S. healthcare system. She represents physician groups practicing in various specialties (including anesthesiologists, dermatologists, OB-GYNs/fertility specialists, ophthalmologists/optometrists, pathologists, psychiatrists, urologists etc.) and settings (private equity platforms, hospital-based, single specialty group practices, or multi-specialty group practices including mega groups), hospitals, ASCs, behavioral health facilities, labs, telemedicine companies, billing companies. As one of the few French business attorneys in the Midwest region, she advises U.S. clients with overseas operations or deals in French speaking countries and inbound companies from French-speaking countries that desire to expand scope and operations in the U.S. She also leads the firm’s Immigration Practice Group.

Isabelle has more than 30 years of international business experience in the healthcare, aerospace and plastics industries. Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, she worked as a healthcare attorney for the law firm of Brouse McDowell after honing her legal skills in-house for a major health system (Akron General Health System, now part of the Cleveland Clinic) and a local county hospital (Robinson Memorial Hospital). She served in senior strategic business development positions for a global pharmaceutical company (Sanofi-Aventis). She also served as General Manager of a division for a global manufacturer of aircraft and train parts in Paris, France (Schneller Inc., now a division of the Transdigm Group).

She is a frequent presenter and member of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASCRS/ASOA), the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives (AAO/AAOE), Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), etc. She serves on the boards of the Ohio French-American Chamber of Commerce and Walsh University. In addition, she is the French Honorary Consul in Cleveland and Columbus.

Appointed by the French Government to represent and protect the interests of French citizens living or sojourning in northern and central Ohio and manage the services provided by the Cleveland-based Consular Agency, with additional jurisdiction over Columbus.
